Looks fabulous, I am sure their main reason was to get away from the stress and rigmarole of all the hassles of a western wedding…can’t blame them AT ALL! Maybe not lonely europeans and north americans with hired family and friends – a bit of a condescending comment from Chris really. Whether they have family or friends, it shouldnt matter as at the end of the day, the union is about them and no one else. The right idea!

Interesting. The couple in the photos are alone! In general Sri Lankan weddings (whether Sin hala or Tamil) are a community event. It is interesting to see two people who may not have family or friends wants to get married in a different culture, so that they will have some ‘family’ and ‘friends’. I think that this would be a good arrangement for individualistic and lonely Europeans and North Americans to get married with some hired ‘family’ and ‘friends’?
